In the Montgomery County Medical Society
PRESIDENT’S INVITATION TO MEMBERSHIP
Provided by MCMS AdministrationDear Fellow Physician,
Montgomery County Medical Society remains non-partisan yet is steadfast to the commitment of the science of medicine and the sanctity of the physician-patient relationship that has been politicized in recent weeks. To continue to have our physician perspective counted, we need your voice to be heard. I ask you to please consider a 2025 membership as we channel energy to advocate for the health and safety of our patients and protections of pillars of our medical practice.
MCMS values its leadership role in our local area. Through a robust membership, MCMS represents a strong and unified voice as we advocate for the needs of physicians and patients in this community. Your membership can broaden our base of support, and I invite you to take steps to make that happen.
There are many regulatory and legislative challenges which affect our profession. It is imperative that as physicians we stand together to ensure that our profession maintains its unique identity while other providers attempt to expand their practice scopes into our arena. We must continue to battle the intrusions of insurers whose policies threaten our ability to make sound decisions on behalf of our patients. And we must support one another as we face the stresses that can impact on our personal health and well-being.
While there is a financial cost, especially for those who practice in large groups, MCMS has enacted a new reduced membership dues structure that will enhance the ability of all physicians to join. We hope you will find value in your dues investment.
MCMS appreciates the contributions of its physician leaders as they plan to provide you opportunities for informational and social gatherings in the months to come. For now, please mark your calendar for Thursday, May 1, 2025 and plan to join your friends and colleagues for a wonderful dinner meeting event at the MCMS Annual Meeting. More plans will be posted on our website at www.mcmsoh.org as the date nears.
Thank you for all you do to provide for the healthcare needs of our community. I appreciate your consideration and would welcome your thoughts on how to make MCMS a value-add for you.
Sincerely,
Thomas S. Proctor, MD, FACEP
MCMS President
