Act Now to Support HR 879 – Revert Medicare Physician Payment Cut and Increase Reimbursement for 2025

Montgomery County Medical Society Provided by MCMS Administration

All physicians are urged to contact their federal representatives to urge their support of the “Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act” (H.R. 879) which was recently introduced by Reps. Greg Murphy, MD (R-NC) and Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), along with a bipartisan group of legislators. If passed, this would, effective April 1st, prospectively cancel the 2.83% payment cut that went into effect on January 1, while also providing a 2.0% payment update, helping to stabilize physician practices and protect patients’ access to care.

The Ohio State Medical Association legislative staff and Ohio physicians will meet with legislators in Washington, D.C., next week to urge passage of this important issue. Time is of the essence to make sure that Medicare physician funding is included in the next version of the funding package which expires in March. OSMA has provided a link here for you to share your concerns and urge your representatives to support HR 879. Your action is needed to move this forward!
